The second graders have been working very hard on a new project. Students researched an animal of their choice on Pebblego. They listened and read an article about their animal and took notes. Then, we learned how to use a new program on the computer called Paint. The students used this program to create a picture and type their animal facts all on their own. They are turning out awesome! Once we are all finished, they will be printed and displayed on a bulletin board in the second grade hallway for everyone to see. Ask your son or daughter which animal they researched!
In Kindergarten we are beginning to learn about the author Mo Willems. Mo Willems’ works in children’s books, animation, television, theater, and bubble gum card painting have garnered him 3 Caldecott Honors, 2 Geisel Medals, 6 Emmy Awards, 4 Geisel Honors, a Helen Hayes nomination, and multiple bubble gum cards.
He is best know for his characters Knuffle Bunny, The Pigeon, and Elephant and Piggie. More information about Mo’s past, present, and future can be gleaned at www.mowillems.com
